Was Sarah Walker (PCEM Author) right or wrong to rage quit on her fans and threw them under the bus? What the bloody hell happened?
Sarah Walker for years has made pretty impressive improvements to PCEM making it usable now for 3DFX Glide games and anything in between. (Still lacks a proper 3D Accelerator) but it has Voodoo 3000 now once you install the drivers. However right when PCEM was about to become even more stable she raged quit shutting her forums down for a year in early 2021 and it looked like several years worth of knowledge and documentation were lost forever.

Supposedly fast forward to December 2021

"19th December 2021
Michael Manley is taking over as project maintainer, and will be responsible for development and future direction of the project.

The forums have also been reopened."

a new owner Michael I think his name is took over as the new person in charge of PCEM's development claiming V18 was 'on the way' so far almost 2 years and was going to be significantly improved with new dynamic recompliers and coding whatever that means.

So far no news yet as the V18 thread got hijacked by someone thinking Michael is Sarah in disguise and I am beginning to agree with that OP because (he) reacts emotionally like she does which guys usually are able to keep it more cool.

I personally think she shouldn't have tried to do V17 all by herself and it wore her out including what she thought was her pride keeping her going. There seemed to have been some tiff tuff war going on between her and 86box (a fork) which I'm not privy too because any threads mentioning it get locked and hushed up so I don't know WHAT THE HELL is going on with them.

Sarah was wrong!

If she had a backbone, she would have persevered.

Do you thinjk the new guy will get anywhere with V18? What PCEM is is that it's a single threaded emulator that does older PC CPU's up to a Pentium II/Celeron which most host computers can't handle yet due to insane requirements.

It was controversial to even include PII emulation but fans begged it for documentation regardless or not any home computer could handle it and some fans even wanted PIII emulation but Sarah didn't want it as her dream was a working stable Win 9X environment which PCEM does quite well. Almost all my old childhood software works including stuff I've never actually heard of before.

It's a treasure trove all without having to spend 500$ on an old retro 'GAMING' PC you don't know if they are being honest about on Ebay. I was hoping they'd get more into late 90s/early 00s stuff but since Sarah raged quit I guess that's off the cards now unless the new guy gets his butt together.

Look up PCEM. It was a great project that kept getting better and better each release. I was happy with S3 Virge and onboard video but when she revealed Voodoo and Voodoo 2/3
I pretty much shat my pants. (Okay I didn't but you get the point).

I'm kinda surprised that with PCEM being so stable that the prices of actual Voodoo cards haven't dropped to a cheap level since now you can have 100 percent emulation without worrying about dying hardware or being ripped off which I have been every time I ordered something on Scam Bay but at least they had my back each time I needed to return something. Thank God or I'd have been up a creek.

I find it ironic that Ebay people claim buyers abuse so much yet all I see is broken junk or some cases you don't even get the package so to all Ebay sellers DON'T WASTE TIME and don't sell electronic things that will likely die in a few weeks after turning it on.

100 percent tested doesn't mean it will stay that way next week.
