Have you ever even read a ketchup bottle's nutritional info? It's literally the least relevant out of any condiment with the exception being hotsauce. If you're worried about the health ramifications of eating ketchup then you need to lighten up. Also, no. It's not "100% sugar". Then it would just be sugar.

I eat ketchup on normal things like hamburgers, hotdogs, ham n cheese. Not on mac and cheese. If anything put bbq sauce on mac and cheese. ketchup on mac and cheese kills the flavor of the cheese.

Macaroni is pasta. It's the same dried hard semolina flour based food that you boil as any other pasta, and pasta is known to come in a variety of shapes. I mentioned this before but it is derived from the Italian maccheroni, which refers to a variety of small tubular pasta shapes, and not just the elbow shaped noodles you might call Macaroni within the anglosphere.

Macaroni and cheese however is more along the lines of a pasta based dish. The sauce isn't pasta. I only put ketchup on prominently beef based foods. I don't even put ketchup on french fries, since everything that makes a french fry distinct from mashed potatoes is kind of nullified by the ketchup. The salt dissolves into the ketchup and the sauce makes the crisp fried edges soggy.

To be honest, Huy Fong Siracha sauce looks and tastes an awful lot like ketchup with that red coloring and those sweet vinegary notes. The main difference is just that it's spicier. It is a little more viscous too, but not by much. I just don't understand how people can be so obsessed with the stuff, and then go on to denigrate ketchup. Are you folk using Hunt's brand instead of Heinz or something? >_>

It's even weirder how people go crazy over barbecue sauce and still denigrate ketchup, even though barbecue sauce is usually ketchup based.

I mean, in this particular case, yeah, I would agree that a small amount of Siracha would be better than ketchup, but that's kinda like saying I'd prefer mayonnaise in my mashed potatoes to mustard.
