Why does Russian food suck?

It's not as bad as English food, but it's not much better.

Have you actually been to these places you are criticising? Neither English nor Russian food sucks. Just as any other country, it mostly depends where you eat within the country, not the country. It is just crazy stereotyping to say that all food sucks in a particular country, these days most food is a mixture of foods from all over the world anyway.
The best comment I've seen today. Thank you very much ☺

What do you think of the film"The hunt for Red October"?

If you havn't seen it, its about a high ranking naval officer in the Soviet Union who steals the latest and most dangerous submarine on the planet and heads to defect to the USA. The movie is him trying to get away from Soviet Submarines trying to trap him.
great song and great movie because Sean Connery is awesome.
To be honest, I haven't watched it. but the film has a Russian language. I've already got 2 movies here that I haven't watched. Thanks for telling me what to watch, but there's not much time right now. I have the end of the year, like everyone else, in general, the teachers bring down, give grades and all that stuff. And today I'm going out at night, and after night work I'm going to college for couples. which will go on until 5 pm, and then I will immediately go back to work. I have to drive home from college in 2 hours. and it will take 3-4 hours to ride there and back. I don't see any point in going home.

yeah this doesn't sound good no matter how you put it. Sounds like next generation of brainwashing by a country that calls everyone else a NPC.
(1990s)
the army cadets when i trained in them in UK used stuff that was banned in the British Army back then and most certainly banned now in both cadets and the army.

Some stuff was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ adult projecting their own failure of something but mostly it was good if you were going into the armed forces and gave you natural advantage over civilians in how to get stuff done / leadership that became naturally in built even when I didn't recognize it as that back then.

I think slight stuff removed from the training we received and more positive reinforcement and it could be a good thing.

My Russian counterpart the Russian cadets were doing paratroop training at the time - jumping out of aircraft.
Don't know if it was some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ propaganda put out by the Russians or if the documentary was 100% genuine but certainly made me sit up a bit and think ♥♥♥♥ those guys are tough.

My view is with a none coddling approach but not violent / too harsh either a cadet program from the 90s would be good to promote in all countries and give better understanding of strategy and logistics as well as the usual infantry fun.
I skydived myself about 6 months ago, but compared to jumping out of an airplane, this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. He jumped from a tower 9 floors high. The parachute was already open. But it was cool.

McDonald's is delicious now, period. The name is disgusting, as is the food. prices have become 2 times higher, and the taste of cutlets has changed for the worse
It's not a criticism or malice but reality.
MC Donal has always been junk food and the reality is that in the US obesity is at very high levels precisely for these reasons. People in US are incapable of cooking real food at home, even basic and simple things like real pizza, not fake pizza with sauce or strange recipes. On the contrary, original Russian food is excellent as are other foods from other countries like china etc
I have a girlfriend from Vietnam. there are so many different ways to prepare food. She knows how to cook our dishes and her own. We ate fruits from the leaves. It was very unusual for me. 😅
I'm waiting for new questions 😁

So I made a comment to a Russian one time and they flipped out.

I said "... you can't make the world to order like a hotel services food."

A common saying around here to imply you just can't have things your own way all the time.

They seemed to get offended by the mention of the hotel service food like it was some rich persons status I was referring to or something.

Do Russians not stay in hotels much? Go on vacation and spend it with family or something?
Is that only for the rich and tourists?
Miss this one? Or just feel uncomfortable answering it?

I thought I had answered the question. well, I'll tell you that on holidays I really felt ashamed of Russian people on vacation. Many people think that by paying money they are allowed various antics. One of them remembers writing in a free bar so that he couldn't get up, and I'll say that it's not so easy for us to go on vacation. this is for starting salaries 4-5. to take the number of round-trip plane tickets, hotels

Interesting.

I don't understand what you mean by starting salaries 4-5? Can you explain that another way or related to housing costs and food for example?

I mean, you need to get 4-5 salaries in order to have a good rest on vacation. but it depends on where else you work. I'm lucky and I have a salary of 70-80 thousand rubles. And other colleagues have 30-40 thousand rubles each. Someone is definitely getting a lot more than me. And someone on the contrary.

Still hard for me to relate amount.

For example a person here started to work for Amazon for $20 per hour. That paid his apt etc but didn't even have enough for food and gas to get to work. Had to go into debt until his wages came up a bit.

Would you say that is more in line with 30 - 40 thousand rubles or your 70 - 80 thousand? Or less?

edit add - I should probably mention his apartment was 2 bedroom with combined living dining kitchen area in front. Not low end housing, not high end..

I'll say this. if you rent an apartment in the center of Moscow or close to the center, the amount will be in the region of 100-200 thousand rubles per month. If you look at the outskirts, you can rent a one-bedroom apartment for 30-50 thousand. But for Moscow, 50 thousand is quite a small amount. We do not even take into account taxes on water, light and parking problems, since parking is mostly paid and in the center the amount per hour reaches more than 700 rubles.

He isn't in the city but surrounding area. Works in another state.
So basically what I am gathering is.

Your 70-80 thousand ruble salary is per month.
That equates to about $20 per hour here in terms of living expenses.

Interesting thanks!!

Do you often party, just wearing a sock not on your foot while your comrades are being fed to the meat grinder on the war front? :lunar2019laughingpig:
