same can be said for pasta and noodles, just cooking them plain and trying to eat them is a boring tasteless experience.

being so plain these types of food compliment others so well, either eat them with a sauce or serve them with food cooked with a sauce. Curry for example for rice.

Pasta and noodles AT LEAST have some taste only by themselves

Depends on which not all pasta is equal, had some that tasted horrendous on their own and some other that can be eaten perfectly fine on their own (egg pasta).
