Everybody knows Balthier's the true leading man, though (including him). Proven by the fact that he is the one that shows up in War of the Lions.
Honestly, Vaan would have been more interesting if he was fleshed out more. He's got the whole growth & redemption arc cut out for him, but they just didn't use it very well ultimately.
My vote goes to Issun in Okami
Ammy never would have got off her butt and learned to leap before ya look without our little bouncing bug not a bug!!
Anyways to answer your question, would've loved to see Silver the hedgehog get a game of his own. Imagine a game taking place in his ruined future(s)
Damn Sega for abandoning the original Mobius Freedom Fighter-verse.
Sega/Sonic Team have always kind of distanced themselves from that canon, the closest we ever got were sally/bunny appearing in spinball or the comic covers in the ps2 collection.
Sanakan
Kobeni
Arguably Amaterasu is a primary supporting character in everyone else's stories. Even Issun (is sun) was created by Amaterasu in advance of the events which would unfold. Yet all she does is support his ambitions in making her more than a supporting character in her own story.
Following Sega's acquisition by Sony-backed Yakuza in the 00s there was an effort to shut down the larger Sonic franchise. This meant reversing their opinions on the comics, which had been officially licensed products meant to build the fanbase and lore beyond the minimalist game presentations. This was done in advance of things like Sonic Adventure.
Afterwards efforts were split between satisfying the fans who had developed and trying to kill the franchise's extended universe. Because it was necessary that Sega's downfall, engineered at the finance level by taking advantage of Japan's financial system, looked legitimate.
Ultimately, they changed Zero's look to Zero mostly because they were afraid people wouldn't be able to think of it as the new Mega Man, and redesigned X himself to look more like the classic Mega Man, who of course was blue because of the available colors on the NES palette. But I also think that, by sheer coincidence, it was a neat touch that makes them feel a lot more like a duo, that they should really have each other's colors.
They brought X in to re-establish the existing brand so they could continue to release mainline games without splitting their marketing efforts.
Literally brought Megaman's corpse in and turned it into X, and altered Zero's personality to be whiny and edgy.
also on that tangent, in case you havent already noticed, the man himself has a new series out, "Tower Dungeon".
it is essentially Blame! but in a fantasy setting.
Our Opinion of FB plummeted. His behavior in many cases was alarming!
And we both noticed that the movie could NOT function without Cameron. Pull that leg of the stool out and the whole thing collapses.
