Parasite, the precursor to Among Us where you can just shoot suspicious people and blow up the station?
well if someone wants just cleaner graphics and visuals that's cool (models, environment etc).
personally i don't mind about them, i just enjoy the game as is, units also have more animations in the classic version from what i noticed. there was really no need to buy it, it wasn't like the changes from SC1 to 2 for instance.
well. Fried himself said it all in one sentence: they pulled the plug from it because at the high floors of Blizz (namely Bobby Kotick) they realized that there was not much money to be had from RTS. when (most) people think remaster they think betterment. in that sense think Diablo 2 Resurrected. but in that case the main opinion that persists among the fanbases of both games is that Blizz wouldn't dare treat D2 the way they treated WC3. they knew what was coming specially with a D4 release looming back when it was released. i expected to see the same on WC3 instead i just saw a graphical upgrade and that's it. nothing deeper like SC2 which took everything that was bad in SC1 and did it better. in that sense i would much rather to see a Warcraft 4.
that could happen if Fried was hired by MS, if i am correct i think the deal went through and Blizz was purchased by MS. so if the guys at MS decide that a WC4 could be in the schedule i guess hiring Fried would be a cool logical step. idk at this point. but yeah even before the acquisition it was actually Activision who pulled the decisions and not Blizz themselves. idk wouldn't say that RTS is dead per-se as a genre, i mean there are still SC2 tournaments and peeps really do awesome in them and peeps still play stuff like C&C both Red Alert and even Tiberian Sun and DoW 2 (not mentioning 3 because eh, wouldn't say it's that good compared to 2).
it's just that as a genre has a specific fanbase that can't really grow like the rpg folks grow in numbers. or folks who like other genres say FPS. i still stick to old RTS myself as well.
Too bad that Blizzard is now forcing players to download 26gb which ruin the game (even if you don't buy Deforged)
hah, i knew something and i kept the disc. not gonna download 26gb extra just to play WC3.
and it doesn't register in my battlenet client either.
but mods also made classic games again, cs first and foremost.
i have turned off the automatic finding of games through the client itself.
Settings > Downloads > tick off the "allow Battlenet client to search for Blizzard games."
and i never open the game with the client at the same time either just to be sure.
if i'm gonna play on the client i only play games from there, otherwise i just launch the game as is without entering the client.
you mean beat in the sense of them being really good and no new good rts being made?
or beat them as games? well tbh i don't see that many new cool rts being produced. that's why i stick to oldies.
