Why do people believe conspiracy theories which makes no sense at all?
Why do people always believe what they see ln YouTube or TV? Even if it doesn't make any sense at all, like people genuinely believing vaccines are going to implant them a chip to mind control them just because they saw it on a YouTube video with dramatic music and some dude ranting and using buzzwords to sound smart?

And assuming it was true, which is not, how they heck a global conspiracy, where every corporation is working together along some sinester government or something would let a video "exposing their secrets" stay on their platform?

Why do people lump "Conspiracy theories" into one giant overarching boogeyman and automatically discredit anything that isn't the clear mainstream opinion?
Herd mentality. Bred for conformity.

No, I'm okay with this. You are free to make your case as you like.

I tried to find whatever it was you said you had written and... all I saw was "see my edit" and that's it.

All I wanted to say/point-out was in that post - It's just an observation that people can take up or reply to if they wish or not... It's not definitive and there are very many scholarly works on the subject already.

Scholarly works? On why conspiracy theorists have all kinds of mental deficits? Don't make me laugh. Nobody who knows the first thing about basic psychology falls for this bs. Needless to say, most people do not and will happily embrace anything which supports their stance, no matter how nonsensical. It confirms their existing worldview, you see. Which is very important when you are insecure about basically everything.

My personal take on conspiracies for a while was the man holding a sign in the street corner, yelling "The End is Nigh!" And everyone ignored him. Now, they give him a social media platform and let him have others join his insane rants.

Everyone wants to think they're the "JFK conspiracy theorists", while shouting ridiculous theories about chemtrails and secret cabal of pedophile cannibal politicians. Thing is, YouTube videos aren't anymore of a valid source of empirical evidence or research than Fox News. And the people who believe the former tend to watch the latter just as much. Even though TV news is as "mainstream media" as you can get.

So why should I take those people seriously? Making up your own mind means being able to say "Well, guess what, I think DIFFERENTLY. Why should I believe what YOU have to say?" The problem and irony of calling other people "sheep" is that YOU DON'T have a monopoly on the "truth" They might not believe the official story, but that doesn't mean they have to believe YOUR version either.

One big strawman. Your comment can be summarized "I made it up".

tbf if i heard "according to the study" or something like that, i always translate it to just "trust me bro" just because of how absurd it can be, even if it's that true based on the study

Maybe you didn't notice the mass amount of censorship that's been going on the last few years.

Funny you should say that, haven't you noticed that that man is on your news outlets now? The ones you are referring to are the ones who are not believing that man.

What, as opposed to all the conspiracy theories that other people ALSO made up? The difference is, I'm not claiming my opinion as "TRUTH". That's why I started with "my personal take". You're free to disagree, but don't think that makes your opinion anymore valid. There is no one agreed upon definition of "conspiracy theory".

What some people consider as a conspiracy, others see it as the truth. And to even more others, they're skeptical of both because everyone is talking out of their ass. The difference between the skeptic and conspiracy theorist is that the former makes up their own mind and doesn't follow a herd. Group think is rarely the domain of "healthy skepticism".

The portion in bold is the source of the issue. Some people do actual research and don't think in black and white. The pursuit of truth and the absolute has left a reliance on he said she said long behind.

Maybe because there is microchips, luciferase, graphene, and so on in it.

They're not microchips. They're nanotech precursors which have programmable self assembly behaviors under externally imposed RF fields. This is how you inject a liquid with some nanoscale metals into it and then build a transceiver in the body after the fact. It's also why stuff like Elon Musk's neuralink is a misdirect. That stuff was obsolete with Jose Delgado's stimoceiver in the 60's.

People, especially the staunch anti-conspiracy people, love to point out ridiculous conspiracy theories and use them as strawmen.
What they don't realize is many of those those "conspiracy theories" are quite literally conspiracy theories to discredit actual conspiracies.

And even the word "conspiracy theory" is kind of a conspiracy theory since the meaning of it was shifted a while back (post-JFK iirc) in order to discredit those theories.

The 'conspiracy theory controlled release' conspiracy was a pet FBI project from the 1920s, which the CIA was forced to participate in as a part of 'increased cooperation between intelligence departments' in the wake of JFK. Despite ample evidence internally from similar programs that made most CIA agents feel this was an incredibly dumb self-destructive policy seemingly designed to increase governmental corruption and mistrust.

Given that I couldn't trace the orders back to anyone I'd assume it was another UK suggestion, similar to the 5 approved pop song compositions.

Some are just trolling. They don't actually believe it, but they think it's funny to spread it around.

Some have actual mental illness and paranoia.

Some are just sad, lonely people who feel like they have no purpose in life. Belief in conspiracy theories lets them feel special, like they're in on some secret that everyone else is ignorant to.

Technically most of the last category simply invents a fake conspiracy and then laughs at people who believe in it. Typically due to mental illness.

So that's actually just 3 views of the same class of person.

Generally speaking such people prefer fantasy as it gives them the appearance of control over others, and how deep they retreat into their fantasy (ie "this is harmless fun even if people die from it") depends on how much pushback they get in reality.
