Weird Internet Problems with steam
I notice that some games I play the internet just stops working, but when I exit a game it works fine. Anyone else had this problem before? I'm living in a pretty crappy country, but even then it still worked until recently.

Is your internet capped? Is steam downloading anything that might cripple your internet? What games were they?

(Also your avatar is art, btw. :papyrus:)

Try 'Help and Tips' subforum. This is off-topic, where lost beings reside. :cozyroe:

But.. yeah. Usually that kind of thing don't happen unless you got malware. Make respective measures.

Nope nothing downloading. The only games I was playing recently when I noticed it was Shadow of War and End Times Vermintide.
How do you know the internet stops working?

I just press the windows key or ALT-TAB. Also if the game is single player with online Features then the game will tell me that it isn't available.

Have you tried opening a page in a browser while that happens?

I did actually and it just says there's no internet. I don't even see the other Wi-Fi signals either.
Sounds most like an adapter/firmware/driver issue

Probably. I just tried to switch to a different WiFi that I have and It just doesn't connect and then just goes away from the listed wifi

Not sure what to do here.
Hardware forum might do better with it. But here's some stuff I'd try:

  1. If ethernet is an option, try that first.
  2. Power cycle PC and all network hardware.
  3. Test wifi signal strength and if it's low try a different channel.
  4. If there's a newer driver package for the motherboard on the manufacturer website, update it (especially networking drivers).
  5. (Re)install latest driver from the adapter's manufacturer (if it's not onboard).

Ideally you'd test between each step to see if you can reproduce it. That can be very time consuming but it's kinda how it goes with this kind of troubleshooting.

It's still perfectly possible that this is temporary and has to do with outside interference, ISP, or other factors you don't have control over.

Ethernet did fix it. I had to trouble shoot it and that fixed everything it seems
