It'll be fine, it's not that it interests me but it just makes me a little nostalgic for the time when my 12 year old niece did that too. Time flies, I really thought no one did that anymore.

Anime characters are fun to do artwork with; I've always loved using Anime and changing the style to make what was cute with bold lines into a more serious and highly detailed artwork with depth.

They either get over the anime girl thing and start enjoying the stories, or they reject it and start saying that anime characters exist only to fulfil a pervert's fantasy.

What's important is that they have to watch a substantial amount of anime before they get to either of those points.
