It sounds like too much butter in one place to me, and I'd rather just have a doughnut deep fried using butter as the frying oil. Granted, regular butter has too low of a smoke point for deep frying, but if you got some clarified butter that would work well.

To be fair though, deep fried butter is almost certainly less fatty than just straight butter, 'cause you need flour to make the batter. Honestly sounds a bit like a pastry dessert , kinda like a cream filled eclair. This example almost even looks like an eclair[www.pinterest.com] with the icing on top of it. It makes you wonder how they managed to dunk the butter in the frying oil without it melting away into the oil though. Kinda sounds like that should be near impossible.

Speaking of eclairs, it also reminds me of the Simpsons episode Guess Who's Coming to Criticize Dinner, when the chefs plot to kill Homer with a super fatty eclair that was meant to give him a heart attack.
