They're ALL gone.

Lazlow Jones joined up with the Housers last week, at their new game company.

Getting the band back together, it looks like.

Oof. I guess we'll have to wait and see won't we? :zagsnooze:

Looking forward to what Houser and the boys cook up in the future.
Dec 5 is 3 more days. : >

Hehe happy to see gta fans getting their little cake.

It is good to have low expectations for any upcoming game.

This means you can't be disappointed, and, quite possibly (remote possibility, I know) you could be pleasantly surprised.

I keep my expectations extremely low, sometimes nonexistent, ever since Fable 1 promised to be the Morrowind-killer. Nah, bro. Can't even jump over a fence. Or walk outside the minimap zones. So many lies.

Some years ago, people at this forum did a poll on which city they wished for in the next GTA. Vice City (Miami) won that poll.

https://gtaforums.com/forum/396-gta-vi/
I would have chosen (GTA fictional) Chicago to Detroit, and lots of rural and woods in between. They want it to be absolutely huge, then two different metropolises would be nice. With travel time in between. And gas stations, and fuel tanks that actually run out of gas.

North Yankton was a great setting.

Florida is too flat. There are no hills here. There is no snow here. Maybe there are mountains in the GTA Universe, whatever state they say Vice City is in. I don't remember them ever naming the state itself in the game. Or maybe DLC, or the story, will take you up north, where there is snow.

I agree that the Midwest would be a nice change, however the writers despise the middle part of America. They have some vendetta against any city that's not on an ocean and has 3 million people, so Detroit (already in the Rockstar universe as Carcer City in Manhunt) will never happen. Neither will Chicago, probably because Watchdogs did it.

But the mountains and woods are always the worst part of GTA games. It's just a big wasted part of the map. VIce City had the tightest map ... San Andreas easily had the most obnoxious.

The most obvious choice, I always thought at least, would be Texas. But it's Rockstar, so just like every thing else, they are just gonna recycle their old ideas yet again, creativity be damned.

I don't know but I am not expecting anything amazing. I've never been in to GTA.

I might be interested if they add character customisation and the ability to play as female.
Well, you can just about bet that all the good customization is gonna be locked in multiplayer. It's their new favorite money-making strategy.
Rockstar should die so I couldn't care any less about the crap they're selling.
Thought you're a kid to be excited about an announcment of a trailer of GTA... but 10 year account suggests otherwise which is really sad.

Don't forget they might apply a suscription per hour played, gamble boxes / loot boxes, battle passes, be broken af during launch day, pre-order, etc.

Still time might tell, after all Rockstar did an exorbitant amount of cash from GTA 5 online MTX's.
Cool, it won't come to pc for years, so who cares.

Ah darn, right, I entirely forgot about that. New gen consoles are just too expensive, I probably won't even get it ~ though I probably won't miss too much.

Salt Lake City?

Cleveland?

Seattle?

Portland?

Houston?

Mobile?

Nashville?

Lots of other options there to choose from that have bodies of water of some description, land and a large city or town.

You gotta remember they are somewhat-sheltered UK devs, so their knowledge of America comes exclusively form TV and movies, not actual experience or literature or anything. They couldn't find any of those places on a map let alone describe what differentiates them from each other.

Like you suggest, Houston (or rather the whole state of Texas), would be perfect. However, Rockstar have no idea what Texas is actually like because nobody makes films about Austin or San Antonio.

Used to be largely British devs operating out of Scotland (Rockstar North), back then they used to be BMG Interactive before they became Rockstar. but there hasn't bee a game based in the UK since VC dropped, that was the mid 90's, since then it has been exclusively American based cities and there are three american rockstar studios currently under their ownership. so i doubt they don't have a workign understanding when they coordinate and communicate with Rockstar's San Diego, New England and LA

Exactly, Southern California and New England. Aka, the LA and NY-metro area.

Like I said, they have no understanding whatsoever of the rest of the country except for what they watch on Breaking Bad.

They might have American support studios, but all the writing (at least up this point) was like four or five British dudes.
