Because since the dawn of gaming PC has always had significant market cap. Consoles come, consoles go, PC is always there.

Sure you can play an Atari 400 today. The console and its cartridges still work. But it has no market cap. No new games are made for it. Annual sales are 0. The last time it was relevant was in 1985.

in 1985 PC's running DOS were selling games. Today PC's running Windows are still making money selling games. And yet my PC can still play DOS games from 1985. The whole PC library is still relevant.

That's why PC is master race. It existed long before your favorite console and will continue to exist long after your console is dead.

I still love consoles. But none of them hold a candle to PC.

PC master race is an ancient meme because the joke is that unlike PC users, you don't need a different 300$+ machine just to play something that will not be compatible in less then one to two years.
