Then explain kareishu.

There's actually a gene, ABCC11, that produces the thing that causes body odour. This gene is non-functional in 80-95% of East Asians.

It's not that they don't produce any odour at all, but the main thing causing the smell isn't produced in their sweat.

This and I'm jealous of them for having it.

Pretty much incorrect.
How bad you smell when sweating is mostly down to your diet and general health as well as your hygiene and Asians generally speaking, have a better diet than most Westerners.
It's not incorrect. You can literally do a search on what he's referencing and see for yourself.

What. The specific "body odour" smell is produced by a specific allele that is non-functional in most east asians.

There are other smells in your own 'smell' but the specific BO smell is associated with that gene. Those other smells can be affected by what you eat, something called the MHC (it's to do with your immune system, scientists think it's natures way of preventing inbreeding, the bigger the difference in the MHC the more likely you are to find someone's smell attractive), as well as other factors.

But does eating asparagus make Asians' wee smell?

Does cilantro taste like soap to them, or does it go well in dashi and pho?

Showering too much can actually make you sweat and/or smell worst.

The human body has it's own body oils and good bacterial. Good bacterial doesn't smell bad and both of those fight off bad bacterial smells. Yet your body can also produce it's own musk smell.

People who shower a lot become more and more required to shower to wash away bad bacterial as they also wiped away the good and bad merely replaced it. We also ironically become dependant on deodorant the more we use it.

So it can depend on your lifestyle to how regularly you should shower. Indoors vs outdoors. Working out, main labour, etc. You still need to shower when dirty, but try keep your natural body oils.

A lot can comes down to what you eat and drink instead. Various foods can give your body different odor, and/or smelly sweat, etc.

If you consider Asians to smell better, then your best bet would be copying a similar Asian diet and eat like them to actually modify your own body odor after a few weeks/month.

And you did say "some" Asian people.

Still, I have noticed my own kareishu as I get older.

Though, admittedly, I'm not Asian.
