What is your go-to Winter Snow Game?

It is that time of year. With the first snow outside, I feel the urge to install some game with lots of snow in it for my 'Winter Gaming' months.

For me, it used to be "Icewind Dale" for many years.



Even though, I never finished the game, it synced the Winter feeling from watching outside my window to looking back at my monitor.

I also fondly remember just walking and running in circles, when Assassin's Creed III came out.



It's ever evolving AnvilNEXT game engine introduced DX11 tessellation effects, which made their snow shaders look very realistic, leaving not just footprints in the snow (like in Uncharted 2, three years earlier on the PS3), but also creating volumetric object deformation (snow). You would plow though the snow, the way SpinTires wheels would tread water and mud.

In the recent years, I turned to "Tom Clancy's The Division".



Their custom 'Snowdrop' game and rendering engine is still incredible and walking in the snowy, post-outbreak NYC gives me the right chills.

The game has also a 'Survival Mode' (DLC) which is brutal and looks and 'feels' brutal. A roguelike mode that has you running in a fierce snow storm, trying to make it second by second. Almost like the now delisted "CRYOSTASIS".

So ... what IS YOUR go-to Snow game?
