I prefer a physical book than a digital one
When you bought a book, you can read it anytime and anywhere. You don't have to stick your eyes to a electrical device and re-charge it every time the battery run out. More important, you actually own your book, which you have spent amount of cash to buy it.

In other way, when you "bought" a K*ndle book, you only own a permission to use it. And in case of having a long term business, your K*ndle account would have highly chance of being "locked out" (banned) because of "suspicious activities". Mine has been locked out as well, when I had been abroad for 3 years due COVID-19, and now I lost all of what I have paid for. My K*ndle device is now no better a brick.

That is why I prefer a paperback or a hardcover than a permission that I would lose it anytime.

Actually Picard tried to explain this to Data

I prefer the feel of a paperback. Reading from a screen feels like I'm missing something.

I do feel the same.. Those so called e-books aren't my thing.

Absolutely.

I want the book no matter if it's paper or pdf

pdf is far better than a K*ndle book.
At least you won't lose it because of a stupidly reason.

By the way, I still stick to digital games because Steam's service is not bad, and I can back up anything I have downloaded from here.

The disadvantage with a physical book, though, is you have to be careful with it. If it's an e-book, you can just stuff your phone in your pocket and it'll be fine.

Or hell, you can throw your phone in a wood chipper and the book will be fine.

Still, overall, I'm on team physical, because I keep and read all my books at home anyway so this doesn't make much difference.

I remember a time when things were less easy to replace, and I valued them more

werent physical books also censored, like the bible has many different translations or interpretations all claiming to be original. in digital there is at least version history.

Imagine if we had to interpret things for ourselves

I only read physical copies. And, I go to a bookstore to get them.

I reread books very frequently and read every day. I have a very large number of books. Thousands....

I am donating a little over 200-250+ to the Red Cross, just waiting to get some other things together before calling them to come get them. They'll give them to shelters, needy, etc.

10 years ago I'd agree.
Now I prefer ebook because I'm not carry big encyclopedia in my bag just to read it outside.

You must be older than me. I have only read less than a thousand books, and most of them are about engineering and work-out.
