Thoughts on pink (the color)?

I'm a guy. I'm straight. I like pink. I paint all my items in tf2 that color. I like wearing pink shirts. The room I sleep in is painted a pretty light pink. I've liked pink since I was a kid. Anyone else like pink?

It's an aesthetically pleasing color in a variety of contexts, but I'm not gonna buy pink clothes or paint my walls that color or anything.

Rainbows are glorious, I personally think its manly as hell and no one will ever take that from me.

If you are manly enough you can rock whatever you want. You can make rainbows manly again, like ancient vikings or chrono and serge.

Colours don't have genders. If someone judges you for liking it, they aren't worth your time. Pink is really nice.

There's some truth to this, but it's not really the whole story. Everyone has a culture, that makes certain associations, and those associations feed back into preferences in whatever way you decide they should. It's probably impossible to just ignore them completely. But this isn't a negative thing. It's perfectly acceptable for someone to consider these associations just like any other.

For example, some people say their favorite color is green because it reminds them of nature, or blue because of the sky. Nothing wrong with that, nor with taking gender associations into consideration.

In the UK pink used to be associated with the masculine and blue feminine. They also used to put boys in dresses so it's all pretty artificial.

Fun fact - pink was always "the boys' color," historically. Blue was "for girls." It got reversed at one point basically just to suit manufacturing interests.

I mean all of that is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anyway, colors don't have inherent meanings or gender, it's all cultural bias. But we can't even agree with ourselves, lol

It's another sun and moon thing being inverted by ancient Egyptian notions. Blue is the war crown, red is the crown of lower egypt, white is the crown of upper egypt. Pink is also minus-green, and refers to the genitals. Nipple. Etc.
