Why are some people masochist?
I don't understand how anybody could enjoy pain and suffering...

First world taking advantage of third world countries?

I'm guessing they're trying to use them as examples of bad countries as an excuse to not fix their own problems?

Actually now that I think about it, this would make sense.

It may even be possible that first world countries are trying to make themselves third world countries.
outsourcing jobs and paying them 5 dollars a month yes, for hundreds of years all the lesser developed countries were colonially exploited which is why their economy is still in shams.

Actually yeah this makes sense.

This is actually harmful to first world countries too because now they don't have their own manufacturing.

Like if a first world country decides to outsource their manufacturing to China. Sure their labor is cheaper, but now they don't have their own manufacturing.

I'd say this will hurt everybody in the long run.

I suppose, but maybe thats wanting to share pain inflicted upon you with your abuser than any genuine sadistic desire. Most people don't enjoy hurting others, but put someone in the right circumstance, like a father in a room with someone who killed his daughter, then that father may have extremely sadistic intentions for the murderer.

Also, if a person is both a sadist and a masochist they would be some of the worst people because that person would hurt others all the time and they won't care about any consequences.
There was once a man called Albert Fish, a rather well known serial killer who was also a sado-masochist. He lead a rather interesting life to say the least. I wont talk about what he did here. The less said the better.

That angel of pain seems more like a demon than an angel if you ask me. I don't know how this would be considered "angelic".
You would be correct, now in another example its how Satanael is no Satan, rather, Satanael is an angel who forfited his position in heaven and as an angel to be an agent of god who goes out and undoes the deeds done by demons by use of force, an action that angels cannot do.

These people have willingly given up their place in heaven to take on the duty that no one else would. Satanael ironically is the brother of Satan, which while yes is not in the Bible, does come from the book of Satanism itself which explores the realm of things that the bible did not speak on for much.

To not derail this topic anymore then I accidently have, their people who gave up their heavenly pleasures and life to take on the duty that no one else would, Satanael is the """soldier""" of heaven that does his duty aggressively, the angel of pain took on the suffering and pain of humanity so it would not suffer it and so on and so forth. Their demons yes, but their willing demons.

Very interesting.

Also the angel of pain is actually trying to protect humanity from pain and suffering by experiencing it itself so that others don't experience the same thing?

Correct, she takes on the duty of both suffering the worse forms of pain along with the worst forms that can be forced/given to others.

Yeah if somebody were to hurt you or your loved ones you'd want them to be punished.

Also I'm guessing Albert Fish did very evil things.

modern economy is kinda pain inflicting, cause it wont allow normal wages globally, if everyone had same salary than nike shoes would probably cost 5k dollars.

Pain can cause an adrenaline rush that's better than cocaine.

I see. So then what about the sadism part? Who is she trying to hurt? Is she trying to hurt demons or something?

I've not read the book in a few years so I'm going off a recollection of memory here. She uses it as a form of protection, to be more up front, she returns the pain to those that inflict pain upon others, by the book it amounted to explaining that guilt is not her duty, but the guilt you get from pain that you caused to others is her duty, basically if you hurt someone, but in the future get hurt, that was her enacting her duty hence why she is like Satanael, both former angels that gave up their bliss to endure a task that would other wise get one cast from heaven.

Some games use them actually, the idea of a demon god that punishes other gods that have gone against orders (in this case, lets use Persona on how the God of Order was defeated by Satanael, a Demon God) that is a perfect example of how they gave up everything to do the duty angels otherwise cannot, he punished the god of Order by literally putting a bullet in his head.

Now the book does not get that dramatic, tis just an example of course

Yup. People who regularly get tattoos and piercings are like that as well. In addition to the adrenaline, there's quite a substantial endorphin and dopamine hit as well.

So the sadism part is really like a justice thing then?

And any guilt you feel after you've hurt someone is her doing too?

Now the angel of pain is starting to make sense.

Also now I feel like playing Persona! :steamhappy:
