Because society assumes they can't do the same quota of work than men which is factually wrong at least in many workplaces, plus even as a man you have no reason to kill yourself for work especially if the pay doesn't follow suit which oftentimes it doesn't, so no there is no objective reason as to why a woman is paid less for an equal job other than they just can used pretext for like pregnancy leave which to be fair a woman can and should just have holidays anyways like mens does and this could cover that plus they already pay them like ♥♥♥♥ so they effectively have no reason to ♥♥♥♥♥ about it.

I have an in depth critical thinking it's just there is no sense in using it since few seems to grasps or even talk about those deep subjects.

Once upon a time, it was based on Biblical foolishness, but in the current day, women are paid about ~80% of their male co-workers simply because their employers can get away with it.
It's the same reason you are discouraged from talking about wages/salaries with your co-workers. People are low-balled as a matter of course... you might be surprised to learn what your co-workers are getting.

Wrt women, that "Biblical foolishness" I mentioned earlier has influenced all aspects of society, and human relations. This conversation illustrates just how little we have managed to overcome so far.

Equal pay for equal work... 'nuff said.
