Years of scientific testing conducted by myself and my best friend, as children, lends credibility to your claim.
Lighter than "Hot Wheels?" Yes, in general.
Faster on the track? That's possible, too. But, since there are so many models and their designs aren't shared between brands, its very difficult to accurately test. Heavier cars, for instance, could deform portions of a track that are not well-supported, reducing the car's velocity if the deformation is great enough.
More testing is needed. Get on that. :)
Had both as a kid... although more Matchbox then Hot Wheels because Hot Wheels came later
Surprised and happily so Matchbox is still out there and not bought out by Hot Wheels...
Yeah that I know, I meant if there's a difference in the quality.

I also definitely had one of those car bed frames, too. I remember that one a lot better.

But my god, it has been so long since the last time I would’ve been interested in toy cars. Like Dracoco said, that was probably when I was 6 or younger. Back when I was living in the UK, when I started 1st and 2nd grade.
I never cared for Hot Wheels.
They're both owned by Mattel now.
