To the equatorial region and Southern hemisphere it is. The latter have seasons flipped, whilst the former doesn't really have seasons as the North and South does. ;P
Why, would you get upset if you went to a middle eastern country and they called their holiday by a non generic name?
Someone somewhere else raises all the livestock
Someone somewhere else builds our homes
Someone somewhere else makes our clothing
Someone somewhere else maintains our water distribution
With nothing of actual importance left to worry about, we find strife in things that aren't important at all, like whether a complete stranger wishes us "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays," or Donald Trump getting two scoops of ice cream.
It wasn't a Christian holiday originally.
Its a cultural tradition which became historically linked to Christianity, there is a concerted effort to remove religion from western culture.
"Happy Xmas! or if you prefer, Happy holidays! or if you prefer, happy mcdonalds! What? You're still mad at me because i accidentally misgendered you? What do you mean you're not christian? What do you mean you're a vegan?! WELL IT'S NOT MY FAULT YOUR NAME IS BROCK AND YOU'RE DRESSED IN A MINISKIRT. WHAT AM I SUPPOS--"
Anyway. I hope this helps. Please enjoy your holiday season. Have a wonderful day.
It was a holiday stolen from another religion. Forcing your beliefs on conquered land, colonies, and slaves doesn't make something a "tradition".
That critique can be applied to any tradition, most of which are far worse, go look up traditions of your so called natives, human sacrifice and barbarism, so to say the least the motivations behind this one are not good at all.
