This really depends on the person, and all the answers will be different.
But as current state of the world, you could live without striving for self improvement, if you consider being a homeless a living.
i've done some distasteful things when i was homeless and i don't regret it because it was all for living another day. had i been a person of strong morals or dignity, i wouldn't have done the things i did to survive. i would of died in some ditch long time ago.
its probably because of my military background that when survival instincts kick in, you do anything to live another day.
if the ww3 ever happens, i might not be super prepared for it but as a survivor i know what to do.
when the matter is life and death i always choose me. i've been a solo player my entire life and i'm not about to risk my playthrough for people i don't even know. in a survival situation theres only player 1 and everyone else is an npc.
i do feel sorry for those people that consider OF or tiktok a real job.
sure you make money but you learn nothing.
so you'd eat other homeless people, if you were given the opportunity to choose between that and death?
but in today's world couldn't i just break in a grocery store? grab a sandwich?
i mean if you want to eat your mates, i don't judge but i'd much rather have a sammich.
Thanks for the very honest input.
What is OF ?
The film Alive woke me up to what survival can be.
oh lol yeah I know the one you mean now.
and the poor getting poorer and more miserable
I see no progress being made towards UBI and the last talk I saw online about it was something pathetic like $13,000 a year for the poorest members of society - which is poverty level in the USA. You can't even afford an apartment with that.
The rich seem really gung-ho about replacing their workers with AI and are going full steam ahead on AI development. It should be deeply concerning to everyone that not only is there no safety net and no services or quality of life for the hundreds of millions who will soon find themselves unemployed and completely unemployable, but there is no desire or incentive by anyone in government to make any progress on this issue. It's a non-issue.
Are they just stupid? Or do they not need to make any progress on this because they already have something else planned? Skynet?
"the final solution to the homeless crisis"
"AI could never replace me, I'm too smart"
"AI could never replace me, I'm too talented and skilled with my hands"
"AI could never replace me, I'm a lawyer and AI just doesn't understand law"
"AI could never replace me, I'm a teacher and AI could never teach humans"
"AI could never replace me, I use my head and create original works using human creativity"
AI can replace literally every single one of you. The smartest, the most talented, the most creative, the strongest, the fastest, the most "original"
AI can replace every single one of you.
In the future, there will be rich people, the legions of AI who serve them, and 7 billion poor people will be either dead or enslaved.
That's the future we seem absolutely determined to build for ourselves.
not no1 is happy with "good enough" it seems.
Work smart, not hard.
