Would you buy EZ bake oven in 2023?

I never had it, guys got creepy crawlers maker instead. Which you couldn't even eat, as they were plastic.

Its like you didn't have a real childhood if you didn't have ez bake oven, OG power rangers megazord + dragon zord, and ponies.

never had one, neither did any of my friends.

Closest I got was a toy kitchen with plastic food and play doh.

I'm not even sure easy bake ovens were sold here, I've never seen one.

Children are not like tiny adults. I do not want to call them stupid per-se, but they do not really have the life experience to know any better than to do things a more mature person would think are obviously dumb and irresponsible.

The eazy bake oven is a way to introduce your child to cooking that's supposed to be safer than a regular oven. It just uses an incandescent lightbulb like a lamp, and it is somewhat difficult to get inside to even touch any of the hot parts, because you slip the teeny tiny tray into a slot. The kid also won't set the house on fire if he forgets to turn it off, since it's on a timer. Think of it as a practice oven for children too young to use a real oven.

It is a rather tough sell for any reasonably mature person though when a regular toaster oven costs just about the same, is so much more versatile and likely yields better results.

I guess I would buy an easy bake oven if I had a kid who was like, four but if the kid is more like 8 or 9 and took an interest in it, I would rather persuade the child to use a good toaster oven, even if it is more expensive. I also know what it feels like to ask for something specific for a specific reason and be given a substitute though, so I would probably cave if the child was insistent, to be supportive of taking up baking as a hobby, even if I personally think it is not really that great of a product. Easy bake ovens are not the hill to die on here.

I definitely would not buy one for myself though, and given that I do not plan on having children, I guess the answer is ultimately no, I would not buy an easy bake oven.

The light bulb ban has an exception for appliance bulbs, so it should be possible. Might be more difficult than it used to be though.
