Why a lot of men instantly assume that a lonely woman online is looking for a relationship?

Are you sure you are talking about men and not teens and young adult males?
Because the vast majority of male and female adults I know, that play games together or communicate online does not assume its a flesh market..

I think it is age thing.. teenagers will often think its a chance to score some luck

I suppose it's because most of the guys already have friends and don't want another friend, they want something more. So when/if they get friend-zoned or find out the woman is married they leave.
