yeah but trusting the UK is just dumb. it's like trusting NK or Russia, but the UK has a worse track record that's gone on longer.
does the US make dumb mistakes like trusting everyone because individual diplomats seem okay enough?
no, no, they often get scrutinized twice as much and the content of their character is valued even more specifically because of categorical repression directed at them.
you're thinking of poor people, who are often but not always black or brown.
Oh gosh well One must try One's best to uphold the keeping of appearances I see.
innit.
I wouldn't know; I've been gaslit so many times that it's a foundational aspect of my psyche not to trust anyone.
Really?
Yes the American Invasion of Iraq really was a stinker for the British actually and the American handling of Afghanistan didn't help things either.
Leaving the EU was British and rather foolish and people are slowly realising the EU not perfect but better than what was promised by the Brexiteers.
That's why the US should leave NATO and let Europe deal with it's own problems. Then we can point our fingers in shame at the messes Europe creates like two world wars (almost 3), Bosnia, Serbia, Ukraine, the damage European imperialism did to Africa, Asia, the Middle East, etc.
It's not much different than how Europe sent all it's factories to China, now point their fingers at the Chinese and complain about all the pollution they're creating making Europe's electronics.
irrelevant; no grounds for discussion. denied, good day.
There's a difference between the UK, and citizens of the UK. I do not trust governments at all, or the people who run them, but people all over the world, excluding ideological extremists, are generally decent people anywhere you go. Wars are created by governments and politicians, not citizens.
The EU took measures to instead of being neutral on the matter, make it as difficult as they possibly can on the people in the UK, and many ideologues in government have intentionally slow walked the process in order to try to claim they told brexiters they were right. And even with all of that considered, it hasn't even come close to a fraction of the doom and gloom that the media was promising people if the UK left. Don't forget that, people on both sides wanted the British people to suffer for it, and they haven't.
In fact, your description of Europe sounds resoundingly like a criticism of America.
In any case, hatred of the world’s biggest imperialist nation is natural when you’re under its boot.
well the citizens aren't asking for my trust; british citizens live in britain, and the government decides their fate.
tough tits for them but nobody's going around being nice to american citizens are they?
of course not some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rothschilde reject would come along and suck all that goodwill up with a straw because nobody thinks anything more of them than what they scrape off their shoes when they're around and it's only by making themselves inseparable from the country that people are forced to say good things about them by association.
which is absurd; nobody's talking about joe beansman or fred plumbing when they talk about the uk or us; they're talking about the top 1%.
Why would people going around being rude to American citizens? And if they're going around treating Americans like crap because they're Americans then it says more about them as a person than it does the Americans.
