Lando is a good example of an updated and functional, yet stylish design.

i think those WW1/WW2 "half" capes are good examples of functional designs too, including the nurse ones.
seems like a good way to fortify an outfit for inclement weather, and looks nice too.

Oh man I wish cloaks were still popular. I have an old one from a local Ren Faire and it is suuuuper high-quality.
Have strongly considered wearing it casually many times but never had the balls to do it I guess.

Only live once, right? If we worried about with every step we made in life, what others would say, we wouldn't be true to ourselves. And that's just not living.

True. But there are expectations in society.
I wouldn't show up to work in a tuxedo (or even a three-piece suit) since it would be socially unacceptable.

I don't think a cloak would be THAT far out of the norm, but I have jackets that work similarly (or better) while being more stylish. Besides, driving in a cloak is a bit of a pain.
