Imagine you have your beliefs [which I know you do]. Suddenly, you have a smaller group come to your community and tell you that although their beliefs are the exact opposite of yours, you need to accept it and modify your behavior because of their ideologies. How likely are you to acknowledge and respect this?
I get that. What I mean is that you are speaking in general terms, we are not discussing any specific case. Without that, it isn't very meaningful to say "it is" or "it is not".
Before, I was thinking of Pride for example. When people say "I don't care that you're gay, just don't wave it in my face", they will respond indignantly by saying that they are rejected for who they are. Which is false, it is about behaviour / expression.
So to me the whole complaining about having to modify behavior seems like a huge double standard to begin with because that's how all sides do politics.
But on a more broader, general level, I'm willing to accept that there are opinions that differ from mine. I acknowledge it and I'm willing to respect that, as long as the discussion remains in good faith.
What are you even doing here? Go talk to a mirror or something, or ChatGPT, whatever
so this is just a picture of a smart man and you are opposite?
It demeans integrity, morals and weakens society. It's like a religion and I hate religion for its hypocrisy and pious fakery.
Are We with We new friends...who are "them"?
That's actually a good point. But I would counter that by saying in politics, although everybody might not get exactly what they want, there is something there for everyone to some degree. And that is kind of the point of an election, yeah? The majority of people decide what direction the nation should go. But here, we have a small group that was not voted into power, yet, they want everyone to acknowledge their ideology and be represented REGARDLESS that those they want to acknowledge them are having their values stepped on. So, where do we stop? Can we please every little culture when they arrive on our doorstep?
I would absolutely LOVE to see a smaller culture show up on the "woke" group's doorstep in their community and tell them that they need to acknowledge that there are only 2 genders, and they need to accept that. That should go over real well.
I accept everyone and think everyone should live the life they want. But I have a problem if you go into a majority community as a minority to tell everyone to accept the opposite values they have just for your sake.
Totally not surprised that they are a friend of yours. Although somehow they manage to make even less sense.
