I no longer wear a "daily watch." That's because I'm retired and largely don't care what time it is... :)
Back when I would wear one, which wasn't really that common, I'd wear a Seiko. I preferred a black slimline model, just because it wasn't bulky. As far as everyday watches are concerned, that's probably my go-to brand. Just a matter of preference from a guy that really never cared too much about it, so I just picked one. (I got a Seiko as a high-school graduation present, so... /shrug)
I have a number of watches and pocket-watches, inherited of course. If it were me and these no longer worked, I'd take them to a watch repair shop. Sadly, those are pretty rare these days. I only know of one actual, real, specialized watch repair shop. It's a tiny door in a large commercial district with a tiny sign over it... You open the door and there's a small reception area a little bigger than a closet, and a reception style window... The floor is wood, the walls are wood, the glass is frosted and there's a little bell to ring for service if the proprietor didn't respond to the bell that rung when you opened the door. It's... awesome. "A craftsman abides here." :)
Most people just take them to a jewelry store, though, and they'll contact whoever they use or, worse, mail them off to someone.
Nice watches. I don't care about who made them, only that they're tiny bits of history that deserve to keep existing. :)
then I decided these things are not ment for me lol.
only at age of 16 I had a crappy mobile phone (an ericsson if i remember correct) I looked on for time when I start training at airbase,
and only cause I learned there that the walrus looking boss man starts yelling at you and you have to do the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you come too late. If it was just yelling I wouldn't mind but cleaning stuff is not fun.
wrist watches are so 1980's
