Joke Philosophy

Jokes about killing people. Jokes about terrorism.
Are they different?
Are they publicly acceptable?
How about on steam are we ok with them here?
I've spotted a joke video on steam community page somewhere, its about terrorizing people by flying a plane into a building. and it had me thinking... do people find the video funny? Yes, multiple people in comments were posting humor reactions.
Tell me your thoughts.

Personally I think that we should be able to joke about anything.

If a dying dad joke about his blood pressure in hospital bed, it is courage and strength. A laugh that is able to take on anything.

Insensitive? Lack of empathy? If people can't take jokes, what bigger things can they take? Why bow to such weak people?

But of course moderate it. The joke must be constructive. If it's not fun and not constructive, then don't joke about it.

If the statement be it joke or not isn't directly calling for violence its more than likely legal. People upset about it can reply back, move along, etc. Either way if its legal speech it should be allowed. Valve is an American company. It should have something to close to American speech norms imo. Not be yahtzees like Canada.

Ok so the consensus is ok to joke about anything, and as long as its not a call for violence.
Let's entertain these thoughts.
Let's say the person joking is a Doctor that works in a pandemic virus research lab, and he jokes to people about terrorizing a city with a virus. Is that ok? It follows all the guidelines met in the general consensus.

The thing with jokes is not the joke itself but the execution of the joke. I would laugh about dark stuff if the person telling me the joke had great execution.
