Zelda actually used to be my #1 pick before Dark Souls happened.

These people are legitimately shocked and confused when someone doesn't like it. Like legit crisis mode for about three seconds until they manage to rationalize that you are in some way just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ person and that's why you don't like it.

That's certainly very strange for him to claim. Then again he got where he was by going along with people, so. Not exactly that surprising.

That was actually a mid-level executive who had been put there as a part of the larger effort to portray Spielberg as disposable by having someone else direct his movies. Some component of the statistical data this guy had said that 22% of the audience liked Fast Cars Go Boom or whatever its name was purely because of the 12 year old girl, and of those 80-91% said they wished she was 1 years younger, and 63-73% two years younger. (Only 33% said more than 2 years, and it was probably more like 13% corrected for misleading questions. More or less in line with general statistical data for that opinion set of 2-3%.) He was very quick to deny that he'd been put there specifically to suggest this revision, and went out of his way to suggest it for every other movie he was associated with afterwards in order to make it look like it was his idea.

There was a brief period where he claimed it was George Lucas' idea, in order to float the suggestion of a 11 year old romantic interest in other sets he'd been sent to, but higher-ups eventually caught wind and almost threw him out of the industry.

I heard he's more subtle about making this suggestion now.

War fandoms. There's this one guy out there commenting on Ukraine that reminds me of Buck Turgidson from Dr. Strangelove. Has similar mannerisms. A look in the eyes that spell 'I love war!'

BG3 fandom I really hate. That thing is disgusting and the whole Astarion thing has to stop. And on top of that you've got the other side, the Gale lovers. And they compare notes!!! All I want to know where is MacGuffin #539 and I get dragged into this cesspool of... There's no word to describe it.

It was Lucas's idea.

It was during their first treatment meeting for his proposal. He, Spielberg, and one other guy/gal (I forget who) met for an hour or so to discuss and flesh out the idea.

I came across the transcript from that meeting on a script/movie site, somewhere, once.

Edit-Add: You can find it if you nail the search terms. IIRC, it was 14 or so that was talked about, not 11. But, I could be mistaken or they may have moved it up. I think 16/17 or so was mentioned due to some concerns, finally. (Can't recall, sorry)
