Look at post #21 realism is a thing.
I love fighter jets.
Although this is the only fighter jet avatar that I found on Steam...
(a pessimist generally has a very realistic outlook on the real situation.. while an optimist looks with rose tainted glasses)
however.... while optimism IS delusional...it has health benefits to be ilusional to thing tomorrow everything will be better even if the chance it actually is is near zero it can help people take that 1 in a million gamble pessimists never take..
so while pessimist are realists.
optimists get in the end more done.. even if 99/100 times they won't.
Except that I don't constrain anything, It is what it is.
People do say that pessimists are more realistic, Realism and pessimism are two different concepts that are often confused with each other.
I think in some situations being an optimist is the best. It depends on the situation though.
I always joke about the "health benefits" thing by saying "well we pessimists don't care about the "health benefits" because we don't want to live in this world anyways".
And I think apathy is often just as a destructive a force as the energy a pessimist might put out into the world.
so in order to cope, people say 'i'm realistic,' and suddenly constrain their world to remove the affect of 'rocks,' or 'TV' to shield themselves from the effects of those affects. That ain't reality buddy. That's constraining your perceptual capacity for coping capabilities.
Now of course people hating pessimists is as expected, but wow I didn't expect so much hatred for realists...

Their mindset is 'everything is gonna be alright' in the sense of 'someone else will fix that someday'... They run along and nothing changes.
Some even hold me back trying to make a change.
Yeah, a lot of "optimists" just decide to not fix anything and when someone else points out problems they just shame them and tell them to "be positive", and when someone feels unhappy they like to blame them for being unhappy as if it's their fault for being unhappy. This pisses me off a lot honestly.
It's those types of people that hinder progress actually, because they're the ones that don't try to fix anything.
They are all admirable and show us a way to deal with life's shortcomings
FPBP, as always
