Higher res or OLED?
I've been thinking bout getting a 1440p monitor but knew Id lose fps and I heard people say OLED is way more noticeable than a higher res and you don't lose performance (or it's very small)
So what's more worth it?

Higher res means you are going to need stronger GPU. It's why I decided to stay with my 1920x1200. I'd rather have smooth gameplay than slightly improved gfx (which you are going to get used to anyway)
Neither for gaming. Higher resolution, like 4K, will come with an FPS penalty. Higher frame rates will look clearer in games with motion at a lower resolution than a higher res display will when it's chugging at half the frame rate. And OLEDs still have issues with burn in, which you're going to get from a PC when you have things like task bars on screen CONSTANTLY.

If you want a higher diagonal size like 32" then you might want to look at a 1440P screen with a high refresh rate (at least 120fps), good response time, good color accuracy, and a high contrast ratio. HDR could be good, and don't get anything that doesn't have Freesync.
I'm totally fine with my 29' 1080p ultrawide monitor, therefore I would prefer OLED to higher resolution. Anyway, my 3060 mobile isn't the best solution for gaming. 🤪

It's very personal.

I have high res and OLED monitors and I much prefer OLED for gaming. The speed, the contrast, the colours - they are amazing - real "wow" monitors.

Think a 4060 ti 16gb can do 1440p at least 120fps on high?
Oh, I forgot to say something: look at ultrawide monitors at local store. They're not for everyone, for sure.
It really depends on the game. I would look up benchmarks for that GPU on Youtube and you should get a good idea of what to expect out of it.

Give it a couple years, then you can recommend it.
There's also the dead pixel issues with OLED. I have three OLED TVs, no dead pixels when bought, but have all developed dead pixels over time. I have never had this issue with LCD. I guess OLED is flawed, the organic stuff just degrades over time and you can't do anything about it.
Yeah, longevity, for one reason or another, has always been the complaint with them. And they cost more than regular LCDs too so if you're getting much shorter usage out of them at those higher costs, the actual cost to use is way higher than the sticker price. That's why you can't just pull one out of the box, turn it on, and recommend it.
There are some nice looking 21:9 OLEDs, but as mentioned above (and all over the internet) burn in and QC are both problems.

The tech is still relatively new, it's still getting better and cheaper. But even if the burn in problems get fixed tomorrow, it will take a while for us to know about it. We hear about problems and failures far more than successes.

If your monitor is fine, you probably don't post about it, and people probably don't read it either. People are far more likely to post and read about problems.
If you have a Nvidia graphics card, get a monitor with G-Sync.
