The way IE and a normal folder in Windows work, are the SAME. If you write https on a folder or if you write C: inside IE, they will work the SAME way. This is the reason you cannot unistall it. IE has ben considerated a malware since Windows '95 and it uses the same system and services folders in Windows use.
With Edge, you can disable all what you want, it doesn't matter, because a LOT of services Windows is running in the BACKGROUND, they will REQUIRE that browser, that is NOT just a browser.
And among these services, there is also the stupid services that push you news and such. It's the reason you cannot disable the many adblockers.
The above is in elementary words, and I'm done here or I really get furios when I read that someone think that just by disabling or renaming he is going to fix anything that is part of the OS itself. The regist does not disable a dam, by doing so you are only making it malfuncionating, and the updates will RESTORE it.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/why-can-t-i-uninstall-microsoft-edge-ee150b3b-7d7a-9984-6d83-eb36683d526d
"Microsoft Edge is the web browser recommended by Microsoft and is the default web browser for Windows. Because Windows supports applications that rely on the web platform, our default web browser is an essential component of our operating system and can’t be uninstalled. To provide our users with compatibility, compliance, accessibility, and performance, we'll continue updating Microsoft Edge through the browser installer or Windows updates."
Take care.
You are talking about Explorer... So that's what you should have said. Not Edge, not IE. What MS says is not the truth. It is just what they (don't) want you to do. They won't give you the option to uninstall it, but you still can. I showed you that I can delete msedge.exe.
And finally there are these "services" you keep talking about, but you don't know what they are. It's too vague. I'm thinking if those services even exist, they are not part of Edge. You are confusing things.
because its bad advice for "normal" user they cant fix any problem in the future, beside it wastes time especially people who have a job.
whats wrong with office? i found it good and better than LibreOffice.
gl trying some old apps /web-based app to run them
also are you fine with multiply "one chrome per app" instead of one chrome shared to all apps?
No, it's you. That snippet from M$ isn't saying what you think it is. The only point in there is that Edge "can't be uninstalled", which I already addressed.
You can try.
or group policy. Half the permissions don't do anything anymore.
Wait... there is none.
Microsoft is the only company that is capable of creating a usable and convenient operating system. That's also why nobody uses linux.
I have a word for this.
xboned.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Thanks, I haven't laughed this hard in ages.
I seem to know more than you at least. If I can rename it, I can delete it. It means the file is not in use. Therefore, Edge is not running. These mysterious "services" which you keep bringing up might be running, but not Edge.
Disabled a lot of junk i have the text files squirreled away still I could probably paste bin them for you guys.
You can remove task manager and windows store if you are hacky enough.
Windows Store you can't use command to remove. You have to physically delete the files. Twice. Because first time you delete windows will hide the files from you.
I used to do it everytime I installed windows. I don't install windows anymore. But if you wish to try it can be pretty secure. Actually, because it'll be a completely unique setup it can be more secure than linux in many ways.
Erm I did not say that, you removed the wrong user tag.
