ASUS ROG phones awesome for DSD Playback and HQ audio!
Just got myself a ROG Phone 6 and boy was I impressed.

The audio specs are great and it has native DSD playback. You can play DSD audio on you phone with apps like FiiO or PowerAmp.

If you own a ROG Phone 6 or 7 (not sure about the earlier ones) it's worth having a listen to see how much better it sounds compared to CD quality. Just make sure the setting is set to Native mode.

Find some DSD files to test, there are many SACDs which exist in DSD file format now. I find that with DSD vs CD quality PCM, DSD has better detail when hearing back the long tail of a crash cymbal and the rides sound very clear, overall instrument separation sound much more independent, so I hear a lot of detail that I previously couldn't perceive.

The phone is great in other ways, really nice OLED screen with 165 Hz refresh rate, not huge on mobile gaming but the small amount of games I do own run better than ever.

I'm just happy this phone exists and that I own it :cuphead:

All sounds nice until you look at how long the software support is for asus phones.

Not playing DSDs through speakers, using headphone jack.

Indecently it has decent stereo speakers so if I am casually playing back using speakers the volume is loud enough for me to not need a bluetooth speaker.

I think ASUS releases security updates less frequently than say Motorola but in my experience so far the updates have been rolling in. Not sure about the next Android version though.

Get an aftermarket sound system for the car. The subwoofer will transform your songs for commutes.

Why not use bluetooth earbuds?
Pumping 2.4 ghz next to ear not good idea in long term keep it simple with nice headphones plug in with wire

Bluetooth uses lossy compression. This means that you lose audio quality.

Most standard Bluetooth speakers use AAC codec. It is quite good at what it does, but at the end of the day its still lossy. Sony markets LDAC as high res, it's not. It's a bluetooth codec which is still lossy.

Bluetooth v5.3 is 2 Mbps at best, so theoretically enough for uncompressed CD quality audio but not enough for DSD64, which is around 5 Mbps.

Wired headphones overcomes all of the wireless bitrate limitations and preserve quality.
I want the ROG Ally

Not a2dt or whatever it's called. Also are all of your songs in flac format, because if not then your point is moot.

The audio specs are unreal, and it has native DSD playback + headphone jack sounds unbelievably clear.

Find some DSD files to test, there are many SACDs which exist in DSD file format now. Donald Fagan Nightly exists as CD and SACD so this is a good one for comparison purposes.
