Adblock doesn't work at all tbh.
For a standard YouTube video, only about five to ten seconds of the ads are blocked. The other two minutes of "paid promotion" (this is literally a synonym for ad) get off scot-free, along with the twenty seconds of begging you to donate on patreon (also a type of ad).

And it would be nice if they could also block the like comment subscribe crap.

if it is a promotion within the video itself, than it is part of the video and not an add like seperate overlaying. then ofcourse addblock not block that cause it would need to cut the video itself, which it doesn't do, cause it an addblocker, not a video editor.
Congratulations. Post 30 and you're the first damn person to actually read the OP.

Have you tried libre wolf + ublock origin or invidious or a Pi-Hole either with a Raspberry Pi / Docker?
No. Not yet. I just try certain ad blockers every now and then, when people claim it works 100%. Somehow it never works for me...

It´s kinda annoying, but bearable. I simple stop watching the videos if it gets too annoying with the ads. It´s not that my life depends on watching it. I probably look a bit more into it, when i finally upgrade my PC somewhere in the future.

But that´s obvious - isn´t it? Also these kind of ads can always be skipped, some have even timestamps for them in their videos - or some do them at the end, or the beginning. Some do these kind of ads way better than any of these other ads.

And some videos are ads to begin with. Like any reviews. Or comparisons between products. Or anything which features certain products or brands. Even if they just wear a cap with some sponsor on it is an ad, or if You see what kind of hardware they use, or if they drink something - but somehow the label of what it is - is shown "accidentally", while making some remark, how refreshing or tasty that is...

Aye fair enough, and do agree ads from what i've read about are far more annoying compared to a few years ago in youtube. In either case good luck, and happy holidays / merry christmas

AdGuard is the best, no ads, no notification like "disable adblock pls", all works fine

I don't do sponsorblock. The Advertising-Industrial Complex is evil and never to be shown quarter, but If an otherwise decent content creator reads an ad in their own words, I don't mind too much.
That's worse , at least it's nearly impossible turn off ads for your channel not your fault what gets shown on it,, but you do very much have the choice to not shill ♥♥♥♥ yourself, no one that does that is trustworthy. Sponsorblock is a mandatory extension for modern YT, tho I don't sub to that ♥♥♥♥ in the first place, still nice to skip dead air, dumb skits, warning screens and all that other crap.
There's also DeArrow by the same devs that replace clickbait titles and thumbnails with actually useful ones, I'm actually not a big fan myself as I perfer to avoid giving the click to clickbaiters in the first place but that also exists for those that are interested.
I expect YT to actually have 0 new videos that are worth watching (yet alone be possible to find) in a few years, all corpo trash now, if you don't already have your RSS reader filled up from the pre-monetization era you're out of luck, it's been impossible to find anything of value without a direct link for years.
Seems like YOU problema :steambored:
Get Sponsor Block. It skips over the useless content like intros, begging for likes and subs, as well as the video creator's own shilling for merch and raid: shadow legends.

It works by allowing anyone to basically upload into a database the video segments that are useless, and then other users have the video automatically skipping over those segments.
