Biden didn't fail the ABC interview. I saw it. He was fine.

Honestly, the best plan I can see for the Democrats this election is to have Biden do an impartial, third-party cognitive test. If he fails, remove him from office under Amendment 25.

Kamala then becomes President (first female President even, and leaves the door open for first female President Elect) and the Democrat candidate for 2024. She's polling far better than Biden at this point.

Then run a Newsom/Obama ticket in 2028.

Of course, Biden can refuse to take a test or be given a pass on one, in which case he stays in office, he remains the candidate, and Democrats take their chances in November.

That milestone REALLY needs to be through a fair election... I dont care if they only have months left. the history books need to show it was a fair and chosen election and not a screwy work around to 'bypass a corrupt system'.

America would not handle that well... not just nationally but globally.

he should be forcefully removed from the race if he fails... yes. but not from presidency so that kamal can take over.

That's why Kamala would then be the 2024 Presidential candidate.

They couldn't let her take the Office for a few months and then kick her out.

And if Biden fails a competency test, I don't see how Amendment 25 doesn't get invoked.

Of course, he can just continue to refuse to take one and remain the candidate. Which means the Democrats continue to not put a black woman in the Oval Office.

So, they maintain the status quo, in other words.

Sounds like a fairly conservative strategy to me...

The last time we had a president running for re-election who was in cognitive decline was Reagan in 1984. He was completely unfit for office his second term. (I hated him his first term, but didn't question his fitness to serve).

But Ronny running for four more was light years sharper than Joe is today.

If we lose with Biden we get a fascist America, possibly for a generation. We also lose the senate and probably two Supreme Court appointments.

If Biden does the responsible thing and drops, we may still lose. But at least Biden won't go to his grave as "The Man Who Lost Democracy", and "anyone but Joe" might enable us to hold the Senate.

I'm with you, and I understand the urgency. I literally created a Joe Biden 2024 thread for that reason. Anxiety is high, but that's politics. It's a game of high stakes, a bluff being as important as having a high hand. Best thing to do imo, is to stop dooming and reach out to people and engage them.
