So what did you think of the whole thing? About the fact that Mrs. Pelosi vetoed 2 specific Repubs from serving on the committee -- Jim Jordan, and Jim Banks -- but approved 3 other Republicans?

I think its hard to appear legitimate and unbiased when you don't allow the opposing team to pick their players. If the facts are on your side you don't need to stack the deck.

Dems chose 8, Repubs chose 5. Dems controlled the majority so Pelosi controlled veto.

Jordan and Banks objected To The Electoral College Count prior to the Jan 6th mob storming the Capital. There was also evidence that Jordan was coordinating with the mob prior to Jan 6th.

Pelosi, rightly so, rejected their nominations "with respect for the integrity of the investigation" citing the "statements and actions" made by the pair. As for what those statements were, Jim Jordan and Jim Banks were rejected because both of them had publicly said they thought it was going to be a sham and they would disrupt it.

Kevin McCarthy, a grown adult, instead of compromising which is how Washington works, decides to withdraw all Repubs names from participating in the Jan 6th committee. He touted:

"Denying the voices of members who have served in the military and law enforcement, as well as leaders of standing committees, has made it undeniable that this panel has lost all legitimacy and credibility and shows the Speaker is more interested in playing politics than seeking the truth," he said in a statement. "Unless Speaker Pelosi reverses course and seats all five Republican nominees, Republicans will not be party to their sham process and will instead pursue our own investigation of the facts."

There are 435 members in Congress, and McCarthy's decision to nominate the 2 congresspersons who said publicly that they would disrupt the committee from doing their investigation into Jan 6th, meant that McCarthy wasn't to be taken seriously either. Soon after, McCarthy would be the first speaker of the house in USA history to be removed from the position.

I'm sorry but that reasoning doesn't fly. If you have a legitimate committee interested in the truth then you let all parties participate and you prove your case with facts. Not allowing people to participate because they don't share your view just makes it look like you are afraid of something.

That's what McCarthy's said after Jordan and Banks were rejected from participating. But, that's just rhetorical flourish. Like Arkham99 mentioned, you don’t want a KKK member on a Civil Rights Commission.

Reality: Nancy Pelosi was even a target of an assassination attempt during the US Capital riots by a QAnon conspiracy theory believer that had pre-planned a plot to try kill her. The Colorado man brought a truck loaded with weapons, including having a Glock, an assault-style rifle with telescopic sight, high-capacity magazines and about 2,500 rounds of ammunition and at least 320 “armor-piercing” round. He had had threatened to kill Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. That message was even delivery to Donald Trump by the person himself.

He had txted: "War time", "3.5 hours from target practice", Ready to remove several craniums from shoulders,” and “so ready to (censored) SOME TRAITORS UP".

Trump had lied that he ordered the National Guard into Washington and that Nancy Pelosi stopped him somehow. The claim has been undermined by Trump’s Cabinet members under oath.

Now Trump claims Nancy Pelosi blames herself for not ordering more National Guards.

Both cases are completely illogical. Did he just like forget who's the US president then or has no clue about being an US president?
