Social media. Forums. In the before times there was no way to spread the hatred. Now there is.
I don't see many people commit money to hating on a game either, unless I'm forgetting something.
I mean, what's another example? Most of the time people have a good reason.
Only scenario that I hate games before trying it is when I encounter toxic fanbase.
This. I love the Fallout games. I wanted to buy Fallout 4 when it first released. Something I never do. I thought it would be fun to engage with all the other new users. Finding out things for the first time. But the forum was a toxic wasteland of flame wars. So I waited until there was a GOTY edition and then it went on sale.

I like to give a try to things. Open-mindedness is key.
