Their controller politics. First they came up with this really cool thing called DirectInput, but then they abandoned it out in favour of the vastly inferiour XInput. Now they want to ban unauthorised third-party gamepads and don't even demand class compliance for authorised gear. Screw them for producing unnecessary e-waste. Same with forcing that TPM spyware ♥♥♥♥ onto everyone.
Thankfully, on PC we got alternatives... except for TPM, that's on everything now.
Windows
DOS
What about WSL though? ;P
the very early versions of Dos were a test of patience.
Format a disk, you need to know how big the disk is er ok input that, the intensity of the disk is also required, er ok input that whatever that is, input more insane information that requires constantly running a check for each disk and parameter just to format them to be able to be used on a system that is meant to be using them and what they are made for.
It is not a big thing but imagine that on every single thing you needed to do using dos.
Later version were sane, thankfully.
But they did uselessly create them both for greed.
