Iunno, I'm just gonna stick with the familiars.
Is that frowned upon in Australia?
No we should all just eat seaweed and mealworms as a nutrient paste.
It's probably the most popular bush meat in Germany, pretty much regarded as an exotic game. I'm just surprised there isn't a farming industry around it established here already. Haven't had it in a while, maybe I'll get a piece next time and make myself a roastroo. Thanks for reminding me. :D

It's considered poor-people's food over there. It's pretty okay actually, just Brits being picky eaters as always. ;P
I actually saw that in a local Lidl in Croatia. I was really curious, but I felt too bad about eating kangaroos. Strangely, I never think the same way about other meat.
you already can.

it is not as commonly sold here in the netherlands.. supermarkets by year round only sell :
Turkey, duck, chicken, pork, cow, sheep
however in november & december they generally sell much more types of meat
Pheasant, Goose, Deer, Rabbit, Hare, Boar, Zebra, Ostrich and yes Kangaroo meat is commonplace in supermarkets this time of year.

If you want it the rest of the year or want even more exotic types of meat, you need to go to specialty shops.
They will sell kangaroo all year round.
But also have meats like : snake, crocodile, Moose, Horse
(the real exotic meats like donkey are very hard to find even at butchers)

There are also plenty of restaurants who have kangaroo meat year round on the menu, even most relative cheap 30 euro pp all you can eat restarants will offer kangaroo.

the price for kangaroo meat here is on the higher side.. as it is priced similair as other "wild & exotic" meats, bout 2-3 times the price of filet mignon

That moment when supermarkets sell striped donkeys for Christmas, but there's no decent cheval butcher in the region anymore and the supermarkets that drove out the butchers only sell you cheval in microwave lasagna. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hipsters! ;P
It would not be on my grocery list.

horse used to be cheaper than beef.. was common sold in supermarkets...
than some scandal about horsemeat mixed in with beef...
and all of the sudden supermarkets stopped selling horsemeat?

it is quite healthy and lean, a horse steak.
but it clearly is less tasty than a beef steak.
but today you need to go to a butcher and pay a premium to get horsemeat.

I like horsemeat.. but I miss the time about a decade ago I could get in a supermarket 1kg horse steaks for 5.99 while 1kg of beef steaks was 7.99

I not object against adding some seeweed to my beef.. but those "nwo" people can stick their own insects where the sun does not shine..

I prefer my food without bugs.
