My first experiences of Superman was the Christopher Reeves films when I was a child.
Is it those you dislike or later films or anything in particular?
I felt sorry for him having such powers yet is not allowed to let loose and win at school sports. It may seem something quite trivial but I can imagine the frustration of wanting to really go for it.
Plus him knowing he may be the last of his kind must be very lonely and the bond with his adoptive parents all the more special especially as he goes out into the city world from the farmlands.
Actually competent Superman stories focus on his faith in humanity and his struggle to prove that it is well-founded. Which is why guys like Lex Luthor are such scum and why Superman takes such issue with them, and why guys like Brainiac come from some other world completely.
It's true that he's insanely powerful, which is why you often have the problems he can't just punch, like Mr. Mxyzptlk, or the depowering villains like Parasite. But it's also true that his villains often tend to match or exceed him anyway, allowing the humanity in him to be the factor that saves the day.
There's a good reason he became one of the most popular characters of all time, and it's kind of a shame that the movies pretty much never get him right.
I've actually read that she's more likeable than the rest of the Marvels. Certainly more than Carol Danvers. It may not make her any less of a Mary Sue though, but I think she was also meant to appeal more to Gen Z teenagers with her show. Which wouldn't be a bad thing if Marvel was serious about doing the Young Avengers, but there's been a lack of consistency in even introducing more of these types of characters and actually sticking to them to even have hope for that.
If Kate Bishop, Ms. Marvel, Riri Williams, and Monica are meant to represent that part of the Young Avengers lineup, then they've ALL been terribly and criminally underutilized. And being thrown in as a "sidekick" to another big character's movie isn't exactly doing them "justice". It's more like being condescending by saying "Aww, you want to play with the big boys? That's cute. Here, be a sidekick for a little bit. We'll come back later to see if you're worth our time and effort".
Honestly, if I was the actor, I'd be demanding a much bigger role and presence, cause it's not like you sign someone up for an MCU contract as a "one and done" deal. And if that IS the case. Then don't be overpromise and under deliver because you were simply "experimenting" and weren't sure whether the actor and character would be popular. They weren't able to get away with that BS in the first 3 phases, since most of the actors were adults and knew that rights and the value of their reputation.
Disney continues to make ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of money, but claims huge losses to avoid paying taxes.
Also can't wait for the day Disney retcons Star Wars and Earth becomes part of the lore
it's not the same experience.
I've watched the last 4 marvel movies at home and it was a more comfortable experience than the last average blockbuster movie nights. I may miss screen size, but I'm winning on a lot of things in exchange.
Movie theatres have gone a looong way to degrade the movie theatre experience over the years (And I've been a really hardcore cinema moviegoer)...

anyway, i've had to watch films at home since covid and it's definitely not the same experience. i don't really feel a difference in comfort because i was comfortable in the theatre. the screen size and sound is the movie going experience, and i miss it. watching a movie at home is not the same.
Longing for something you destroyed, very funny, and fitting of this entire discussion.
I heard theres pretty much a confirmed leak from a producer on Zootopia 2. Zootopia goes by the phrase of "anyone can be anything"
well I am crapping myself. I just know they are going to butcher my favourite movie franchise and turn it into a shameless political woke push and turn Judy in to some LGBT feminist icon and have the entire movie about pushing that agenda rather than solving any mysteries and crimes.
