What are games with good post-story content?
Some I can think of are Master Mode in Zelda games and The True Arena in Kirby games. I wonder what other games mix it up rather than just having new game+

I heard Bastion has something more in game+. I only saw that the achievement exists and until I saw it didn't realize you have to beat the game a couple times. I still haven't beaten it once but I got very far.

That’s cool! It’s nice when they add new enemies, loot, levels and bosses during the post-credit gameplay!

Hades technically isn't over once you "get out of hell". That's where the fun starts

Huh.

I've been trying to think, but you're right. Most games now with story either just end or go into NG+.

I personally think Starfield did a clever job of reincorporating the story into their NG+ mechanic.
CP2077 just ends (not sure with the new DLC though). Rimworld is a "story generator", and you can keep playing after finishing a storyline, but there's really little point.

I even found Battletech to be unplayable after you complete the storyline. All of the mission scales are off and there's no way to train up new pilots, etc.

Although people considered the loop ending cliche, I really like how the lack of an ending in an open world Bethesda game made sense due to that story decision.

I've only gotten to NG+1, but even then the storyline diverts significantly. That character went on in order to try and right a wrong. And he did. So he's staying there.

But I've seen stories about how "weird" things get once you get NG+10 deep. That's all programmed into the game and you don't even have to see it. It's possible to just stay and play indefinitely in the first universe.

Plus I loved the backstory behind terrormorphs and the grav drive. Starting new characters, I'm seeing now that the clue are all there (often in the first half-hour of gameplay). And I didn't even put it together until it was layed out before me.

Unfortunately besides the neat ng+ and their weird timeline all other aspect of starfield falls flat.

It's it a flash-bang rollercoaster of bullet hell? No.

It's it a fairly chill game you can lose a few hours in? Yes.

Starfield is a far more laid back game than Fallout or Elder Scrolls, so I understand how fans of those games (of which I am one) may be disappointed with the relative empty vastness of it all.

To each their own. But I've always enjoyed games that treat space like it is.

Though, I do agree with a lot of the YouTube videos criticizing the gun design in Starfield. I can't bring myself to use the Old Earth Shotgun because of it...

Interesting! I’m now curious to check it out now!

The older PSP and GBA versions of Final Fantasy 1-6.

It's ridiculous how people are complaining about the Pixel Remasters not getting lazy boost cheats, when the bonus dungeons and second campaigns being cut is a far worse travesty. There's literally no reason for rare drops and spells and abilities to exist if there's no challenge dungeon and superbosses to take on.

People who grind for tails are guilty of boring busywork.

The second campaign for Final Fantasy 2 was actually extraordinary!
Nightlight 11 NOV 2023 a las 5:00 p. m.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon (the explorers games.) You get even more story which kind of acts like the game's "second season", new dungeons that are more challenging, and special items that unlock legendary pokémon you can recruit. It was so much fun back when I played it, and it's still one of my favorite post-games.
