Some don't even read discussions forum they have discord for that.
I've had instances where they do both. Discord appears to be the preferred communication tool. Though it still stands that they don't visit this hub. And given how little people actually discuss games... no wonder they don't.
And they don't want to ban people then get people threatening them etc.
Some don't even use discord but They all use Twitter though.
A mistake I made long ago was letting the thought that I did not have the skill to make games drift me away from something I would really enjoy.
There are so many skills involved in making games.
Having ideas you can communicate are one of them.
A big frustration for me was when Battlefront became a nothing on the PS3. The articles I read at the time said they could not decide on the storyline and one of the stronger suggestions was to make the main character not be able to use the Force ?!?!.
My view would be make the Battlefront have more solo campaigns, from Empire perspective like in 2, a Rebel's perspective and a Smuggler or Bounty Hunty / both in one person perspective.
As well as the big battle maps to run around and be all Star Warsy.
A good way to start with the communication is to get a big folder from the stationers and writing pad and colouring pencils and pens . And put your ideas down, there are no bad ideas to put down because even if you don't use them now, at a later date you might find something that could be put to use elsewhere.
Have simple sketches of what the user interface will look like at first just concept stuff nothing is engraved in stone and keep the ideas you don't want to use its good to see looking back.
