'western nation' - china is one of the biggest polluters. go ahead and protest there, you'll find out.

india's untreated sewage which is dropped into the ocean is viewable from low orbit.

also, many coastal cities towns and villages dump landfill waste directly into the ocean and sewage as well, and many are not 'western' though you will find western areas secretly doing it for many years as well.

stopping oil isn't going to stop any of this pollution, all its going to do is stop the flow of medical supplies, medicine, and other life saving chemistry to the world.

your teachers need an education, rather than polarizing you to fight for a cause that you don't understand.

edit: i've also only picked a few countries. this is just the tip of the iceberg for asia and the americas. you think wars care about pollution, those things are dumping entire atmospheres worth of toxic chemicals, fumes and gunpowder exhausts into the air.

My B-3000 still has all four cats but no muffler and it sounds pretty good.

So it can be loud AND reduced emissions!

I've considered converting it to electric, but if I did that all it would ever haul again would be the batteries needed to keep it running.

My family used to pour it down the center of the gravel driveway to kill the grass since it was dangerous to run the mower on gravel. But that was 40 years ago. I just take the used oil into the auto shop where it eventually gets recycled into synthetic.

These threads always interest me because when you look at them, sure, there are a couple people who believe the sensationalist BS that the worlds going to end if we don't do what the people spreading these messages of fear tell us to, but the truth is, the vast majority here aren't falling for it anymore. We've seen the narrative shift, as needed, several times. We've seen lies exposed, we've seen information and facts suppressed, we've even seen people pushing it get caught either doctoring their data directly, or placing temperature sensors on airport tarmacs or outside of air conditioning units to get higher readings.

At this point, most the world knows it's BS.

Well unfortunately "we" all don't... it's we who are older and wiser who have lived and understand that it's not magical and understand the extent of what "stop oil" would wreak on the world if it actually was tried...

The "we" that doesn't.... well that answer was given later...

The generations mislead by "teachers" that have been brainwashed in collages.. the ones that are socially out of step... the ones that are scientifically out of step... the ones that are politically out of step.. because they think indeed magically a fantasy impossible world can exist because that's what they were mistakenly taught in collage...

And now they mistakenly teach that in grade and high school.. without the facts that it's still not possible without the entire world shutting down because... it's just not possible... yet.

Long term, yes. Short term, millions die if we just quit directly. At best we can phase it out (though not sure if we can get rid of it completely since I am just an idiot online and not someone who knows anything). Its a difficult problem to solve.
