Is this where all the cool angry internet kids hang out today? In the Reddit atheism forums? I'm actually an agnostic atheist myself. Just surprised there are so many on Reddit. That is probably because atheist don't have a central meeting place, like a temple, mosque or church. Also, surprised to see so many Buddhist, but my hunch is many of those Buddhist are also probably atheist as well. Since Buddhism isn't about god worship, so its easy to be both atheist and a practicing Buddhist.

That assessment does make sense, but I don’t see why practicing buddhists would be on atheism forums. Some buddhist sects also worship Buddha as a god though. Mostly the Chinese division I think

I'm just making an assumption. I can't be sure this is correct, but I'm mostly talking about people who treat Buddhism in the philosophical sense. I know in my case, I reject the supernatural aspects of Buddhism like reincarnation, building merit, and karma, but I adhere to the other Buddhist aspects like meditation, no self, non attachment, the 5-aggregates, why we tend to suffer.

The large number of members leads me to believe that many Buddhist are also active on the atheist sub Reddit. I mean why would the other religions have a very small sub count? The conclusion is many atheist are also signed into the Buddhist forums as well. That is just a hunch though. I could be wrong. And finally, I am aware that there are Buddhist sects who treat the Buddha as a god. He is often referred to as lord Buddha.

Honestly I think it’s more the numbers are high due to a lack of “physical” atheist communities. I wouldn't be surprised if there’s a lot of semi-practicing people there too, Buddhist or otherwise. Also it’s funny you mention the Buddhist ideas you subscribe too. Meditation unfortunately doesn’t work for me and I don’t think I could do the whole no physical attachment thing, but I find myself leaning towards ideas of reincarnation. Karma isn’t bad either imo, but sadly things don’t really work out that way. I do try to do good by other people though

Not sure if you were out of diapers in 2012 but the entire internet was flooded by reddit atheists being "euphoric" and absolutely insufferable. That is pretty much where the whole "fedora-tipper" meme came from, cringy (usually atheist) reddit losers who wore fedoras with graphic t-shirts or other garbage attire that didn't match their epic gentleman hat.

An easy way to try to see if there is any correlation with your claims that there is no atheist community is to compare the numbers of atheist to the r/atheist member count perhaps?

Long story. The topical problem is with the atheists of Reddit in particular. You have a group of people who would still be destructively unhinged if they feared consequences, fearing nothing, and answering to nobody. Pretty much allowed to go nuts and say whatever they want on their own subreddit, while if you don't conform to their ideas, you're treated like ♥♥♥♥.

To sum it up: No one will ever know for sure until they actually die.. but they won't be able to know for sure since their brain can't process anything anymore!!
So really, nobody will ever know!!!

You can be told stories of someone dying and going to heaven for like 5 minutes and coming back to tell that story, lol.. but that's merely words from them.

To believe 100%, or 100% NOT to believe, is somewhat foolish either way. Maybe I'm just a fool for being in the middle???
