Is Steam Support based in Israel ?
Is Steam Support based in Israel that deletes comments that don't quite correspond to the official opinion without comment?

Do I believe that freedom of expression usually prevails in Israel? yes! Do I think there could be exception in this particular situation? Also yes! What makes me puke is the fact that it is deleted without comment. If I had broken the rules, I would have received a warning or a ban. So I assume that you just want to make an undesirable opinion disappear secretly. Otherwise, as a non-American, I have to say: the line of the U.S. government line on what's going on in Israel is also mine. Doesn't happen often, I couldn't agree more

Ah, this is something I can work with. I'm not the one who has reported or deleted your post, so I've no interest in having an undesirable opinion disappear. But you have to understand that when you voice such sentiments, even when you do it implicitly, you do insult other people. They report you, and, as I and others have already pointed out, your post is likely to get deleted because you violated the Steam guidelines. It's as simple as that. It happened to many of us, and neither complaining nor puking will help you there.

I'm asking just because I've had this experience. The thread was closed, I didn't offend anyone, except that the "anti-Semite club" was wielded by someone because they didn't share the same opinion. I tried to be objective, I only brought comprehensible facts, so I was more serious than the last US president. and did NOT dispute Israel's right to exist. Or was that the mistake? Too reputable for Steam?

No

As usual it's not what you say.... it's how you say it.

If I had insulted someone and/or received a warning, a ban, I would be able to understand that. but so...? That's why I'm asking. If a Steam employee wants to write something about it, feel free to do so. I just ask myself: WTF what's the point, wordless deletion has something of censorship. Has at least a bitter aftertaste
Reminds me, I've got to buy some tinfoil tomorrow and make a hat!
I do not know personally but here is my pov on it:

If steam is not going to openly go out and say anything about it or put anything about it in tos or anything of that sort, they should not delete ANYTHING around that topic on either side, just move it to steam off topic discussions. that is final.

First... it helps not to give yourself away...

And second... you should be lucky and grateful...

Your thread / post was just hidden and you ~didn't~ even get a warning or ban over it... it could of been much worse for you... time to cut the loss and move on. ( trying to argue about moderation never goes well in Forums, they don't like it and don't do it )

They don't need to explain themselves unless you ask and only when it's a warning or ban... "bitter aftertaste" or not... it's in your benefit, take it as a close call and learn from it.
Steam support are bots buddy.

why? I don't have a penchant for conspiracy theories. Only the support is a black hole as far as logic is concerned. And the fact that it is deleted without a word raises questions. Once again; If I had had an admonition or a ban, I would wonder why, but ok, you must have crossed a line. Deleting without a word without the need for further sanctions or the like is already weird. Has something of: I don't like your opinion, so I'll delete it as a mod now
The steam mods are inconsistent, VERY VERY VERY VERY inconsistent, but they aren't biased.

I get banned for liberal posts all the time, and I see people get banned for conservative posts all the time.

But if you wanna waste your time moaning about some imaginary political agenda, knock yourself out.

Pfth okay lets be honest a few of them are biased and glance over certain posts we are sure but multiple mods are gonna start seeing crappy posts so no matter what you are gonna get something

Look, all I'm saying is that during all the time i've spent here, which is A LOT, I've never seen one political group get banned any more or less than another.

I don't want to discuss whether Steam will restore anything, I'd like to understand. And I don't care about a forum ban. There is no need for a limitation because it would not be a harm

You're probably right. If the forum is unusable, you can also use platforms without a forum. Steam doesn't notice the amount of users, but it's better for my nerves... Cheaper is usually also:lunar2019laughingpig:
