It happens with everyone of them.
Its void of liquid so needs it to break it down.
Chocolate is full of solutes, especially salt, fats and sugars. All of which, when they enter the bloodstream require more water to dissolve them with. The brain is made aware of this "thickening" of the blood through the chemical messages between cells lining the blood vessels etc. and as a result increases the endochrinous systems to take necessary measures that result oin you 'feeling thirsty' in order to acquire more water intake.
