Do most people hate sunlight?

I finished by marching practice with the librarians in my school an hour ago. When the commander commanded that we should march under the sun (at the school field), all of the members except me refused to stand under the sun for a few reasons:

1. Dont want to get tanned
2. The sun is hot
3. One of them deemed that she will get sunstroke

So what do you forumers think? Do most people hate sunlight?
