In other words, brainwashed people instinctively hate him because he indirectly deprograms them. You can easily see this when lefties or righties in his chat go ballistic when he criticizes the ridiculous drivel pushed by them.
The hate and villification of men in society also magnifies the hate against him as well.
I'm surprised at how much hate he gets for simply being pro-consumer or pointing out that corporations behaving badly is... bad.
He may have grown up a bit, but when ♥♥♥♥ gets really down to it, he still thinks things that are bad for gaming are funny. He's not your friend. He's not some great intelligent philosopher. He just avoids tough topics and makes obvious observations about easy ones.
Over the years he's backtracked on many things he advocated for previously. Especially concerning health and hygiene.
The things he advocates for may have worked for him and that's great, but he's an exception. He's not the rule.
As someone who gamed heavily online when he was becoming popular, he was the worst influence in gaming. And anyone's goal in life to just be a lazy person living life and gaming is not someone to be listened to with any seriousness.
Most of you are just getting clips of his hot takes.
One of my favorite people to watch that's gaming related is SoloRenektonOnly for League of Legends content. If I just watch him on Youtube he seems like the best creator for learning League of Legends. Then you watch him on Twitch or on other channels and see what he's really like. And it's 100% different.
It's the same with Asmongold.
So what has he done or said?
he has been wrong on most of it.....but never mind the videos posted.....look he is a small minded section of the industry and most still call that section incels......
regardless he has never added anything.....
I dunno. What was he wrong about? He seems like a pretty popular YouTuber/twitch guy.
He slipped up pretty bad recently with his Israel vrs Palestine comment and apologized for it. He did the right thing and didn't double down on a terrible take. His talk with Hasan Abi on his stream was a pretty good and they talked at a human level for about 2 hours. They actually ended up agreeing on a lot, which i did not expect.
So no he's not a crazy alt right person i think he just slipped up on an intrusive thought with his brain saying "SAY A HOT TAKE DO IT DO IT".
Ninja looting just to have a laugh.
Advocating that cheating/hacks is trying and if people aren't cheating they aren't trying.
Being obnoxious about requirements to do content.
Insulting people that don't live life on video games to his standard.
Advocating for unhealthy lifestyle and now years later trying to change. The people he convinced, and yes there are people out there that were convinced, don't have the same resources he has now.
He also has people like many in this thread that hold him up as a mentor/hero or someone to look up to for his hot takes when he clearly hasn't figured out life. He's an exception. You all will not get his lifestyle if you try to emulate any part of his personality.
Using others for a laugh.
Oh, I thought you meant stuff that matters.
None of that is worth getting upset over.
But I'd say all of those are reasons to be "upset" in at a healthy level. Especially if you actually play the games he was playing when he was doing those things.
