IMO, there is no age limit.
E for everyone
E 10 for games that are partially violent
T for stuff that’s a bit more violent and maybe has a couple swears
M for potential use of drugs, nudity, major swears, and major violence
A for it just being a porn game
I didn’t play my first video game until 7, and it was a Lego game.
I think it matters less on the players age and more the games they have access to.
Rating system doesn't mean anything it entirely up to the parents. I played cod when I was 4. Gaming retailers ask your parents are you sure you want this game and parents say yes. It quite simple. I even played resident evil.
Started on the old Atari 2600, playing Pac Man Jr., Pitfall, and some adaptation of Return of the Jedi.
Just use some common sense and you're fine. Obviously, regulate what the kid is playing and how much.
I remember it took me several days if not weeks to figure out I had to get wounded to get a purple heart :P
So you can start earlier imo.
I was only 8 year when I had best score of guessing which aircraft belongs to which silhouette on open day airforce. the major and all these adults looked at me like I cheated but I only know every real and fictional thing that can fly from all these videogames xd
(when they ended primairy education)
before owning a smartphone : 16-18yo
(when they graduated highschool)
before owning a pc without supervision (aka in their own room) : 18yo
owning a pc with supervision
(abarebone laptop or pc for schoolwork that they use while parents or teacher are around and where they don't have user rights to install programs : 12yo
(when they ended primairy education)
using my pc with supervision :
6yo. (under 6yo I deem screens unhealthy.. above I would allow 30 minutes of supervised scheeen entertainment a day.
their chooice if they wish to play games or watch movies or such.
-in holidays they may get a bit more.
I dont have objection with kids 6yo gaming.. as long as I watch what they play
-them getting a newspaperjob at 12 and saving up to buy their own game pc will take a while by than I likely be ok with it.
consoles are banned in my household;);)
the codes for age I ignore more.
elements of magic in games I would very much screen against for impressionable kids..
any hint of woke is instant ban for kids
violence, blood & gore in games I likely be a lot more tolerant off than age restructions allow.
nudity goes both ways.. I am more sensitive to suggestive stuff but I scare less of a normal scene where somebody happend to be nude
Rated E for everyone
Great game for learning as well. Start those kids early, many have gone on into the space industry.
And currently on sale with DLCs fairly cheap.
I'm glad you not have any authority whatsoever xd
