Thanks for your comment! Interesting. It is kind of true what you said about how YouTube is a monopoly but in essence it's got good content like. I tried going over to some other streaming sites for a bit but God... they are... different. Not so varied as YouTub. Not so much good content there, on other ones.
Also, Google is slowly rolling this out. If you aren't getting the pop-up now, you should probably expect to get it eventually.
yes for many reasons
1. They aren't properly reviewed so you get scams, NSFW content, videos that can be hours long.
2. It slows down any browser and network (Stuff that YOU pay for not them).
3. Over the years an excessive amount of ads have been put everywhere on the site
4. They don't properly pay the creator for the ads and pay very little.
5. Ads and other trackers have become increasingly malicious over the years
A few ads are fine, no need for any adblock, but it's basically mandatory because of the reasons above and more.
It's big brother uMatrix is even better, but I never felt the need to dive into that deep end.
